It seems like many people are saying this but I'm thankful that the holiday crazies are over now. My blog has been a little neglected in recent weeks, due to traveling, house guests, and other things. The BIG other thing (which many of you already now) is that I'm expecting our second child the end of June. So Finn will be a big brother, and he has NO idea what he's in for! ;-) I'm almost half-way through now but I have been much more sick and exhausted during this pregnancy than I was with Finn. It may have something to do with chasing a toddler around all day...
I have been really upset at myself for being so tired and lazy but I've come to the point where I realize that this is a season and I can't do it all. If all I accomplish in a day is snuggling Finn and watching Netflix, that's ok. I will still be a photographer and have a business even if I'm not able to have the schedule that I did before. Beating yourself up just makes you discouraged and more tired!
As a result of my partial-hibernation, posts may not be quite weekly but I'm still in business, just trying to take it easy while I'm growing this little person (we find out if it's a boy or girl next month). I will be doing sessions but only a limited number of weddings as I'll be taking the months of June and July off.
I'm so thankful for you wonderful readers (Hi mom!) and really appreciate the feedback and support you have given me. I can't believe I've only been shooting film for a year now because I have learned so much, it feels like 5 years! It really has changed the way I see and shoot, not to mention helping me spend much less time at the computer. :-) I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Jonathan Canlas and the FIND workshop community! It is such a privilege to be surrounded by talented photographers who are happy to share their knowledge with us little guys. My husband, Patrick, definitely deserves the most thanks as he never once has complained about how expensive film is or asked why I need to shoot it. He is always behind me 100% and believes in me even more than I do! I love you honey, and you can buy another guitar pedal if you want.
All these words to say: I am so thankful for all the blessings I've been given in 2011 and am really excited to see what 2012 will bring, even if it includes more puking and an aversion to pizza. ; )
